The Men in Black are Coming Back!

It was recently announced that screenwriter Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) has been hired to write the script for Men in Black 3, the third film in the franchise which got its start in the late '90s.

This will undoubtedly make a lot of money if they can convince Will Smith to hop on board once more, seeing as how all of his movies tend to break the $100 million mark. At the current moment, neither Will Smith nor Tommy Lee Jones have signed on, as well as the director of the first two films, Barry Sonnenfeld; even still, the studio hopes to begin filming by next spring.

Hopefully this third film can make up for the really lackluster second outing. I'm actually a fan of the first film. The first one was funny, entertaining, and action-packed, they just need to go back to the roots.

I actually wouldn't be opposed to the filmmakers introducing us to two new agents in this movie, rather than having Smith and Jones return to reprise their roles, if that is what is needed in order to make this latest outing feel fresh and energetic. Say Shia LaBeouf alongside someone like James Franco? I don't know, but it could be interesting.

Regardless, look out for this one in the coming years.
