Meryl Streep seems to be everyone's favorite actress in Hollywood. She's in just about anything and everything recently, you never really know what she'll show up in next. Her latest film, It's Complicated, from Nancy Meyers, the director of The Holiday, follows Streep as she embarks upon an affair with her remarried ex-husband, Alec Baldwin. I find it amazing that simply because Meryl Streep is in something nowadays it elevates it to the level of an Oscar movie. Would this movie be considered for Academy Award contention were it not for Ms. Streep? Probably not. While the premise to the film seems original, it just looks like your typical romantic comedy just geared toward middle-aged women. Regardless, this one will most likely make some money when it hits theaters Christmas Day.
