For this edition of Old School Fridays, we are sending you Back to the Future, the original teaser trailer for the 1985 film to be exact. Check it out:
I'm a huge fan of this film, and this trailer sells this movie perfectly. I mean, yeah, it's cheesy, but I actually prefer teasers for movies like this where it sells what the movie is about without showing footage from the actual film itself so it keeps this mystique about the finished product. If only more trailers nowadays followed this approach of shooting footage specifically to be used in a trailer such as this. The most recent example I can think of was the original teaser trailer for this past summer's Star Trek where they showed the construction of the U.S.S. Enterprise.
