The Pianist Takes on the Predator

Why is it that Hollywood likes to milk any good thing for all it's worth? A new Predator film is being made called Predators. The film is going to be directed by Robert Rodriguez, which isn't an awful choice, but then it's going to star Adrien Brody and Topher Grace. That is where I have a problem.

Brody and Grace are far from the type of leading men that is needed for a Predator film. Neither of these guys could even come close to Arnold. I would say Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, or even the Rock would be better choices to fight the Predators as opposed to Adrien Brody and Topher Grace. Now while both of these guys are fine actors, they just aren't what I think of when it comes to a meat-and-potatoes action flick like Predators.

Course my biggest concern with this film is that I have not been satisfied with a Predator film since the original starring Arnold. While the first film was great, why must Hollywood insist on running this franchise into the ground? Then you have Rodriguez directing, which his work in Once Upon A Time In Mexico makes me think that maybe he can pull this off, but then I remember he's the same guy that made Spy Kids.

Time will tell how this all pans out, but for now I'm not entirely sure about all of this.
